Rajnikanth stated that the district administration and SIDBI provided support for the Mathura Zari Dress, and the Khazani Welfare Society, a local women’s organization, had applied.
Meanwhile, the application for the Bugul musical instrument from Meerut, the land of revolution, was submitted by the Meerut Musical Manufacturers, Sellers, and Traders Welfare Association, with the support of NABARD, Uttar Pradesh, and the district administration.
Meerut is known worldwide for its musical instrument manufacturers and even today a large number of 10 different types of musical instruments including bugle, trumpet, drum are manufactured here and add to the beauty of band-baja-baraat.
The bugle of Meerut has also played a major role in the 1857 rebellion. Even today, all the programs from schools to army, police regularly start with the blowing of the bugle. Both these crafts were included in the intellectual property of India after a thorough legal hearing under the leadership of Dr. Rajnikant and were granted GI registration.
